Kia Connect Usage

If you’re in the market for a Kia, it’s important that you know which models are equipped with Kia Connect. This is a system that provides a seamless connection between your Kia vehicle and your smartphone. It allows you to control key vehicle functions, access relevant information, and take advantage of services that help ensure the safety and security of both your vehicle and its occupants.

To help you make an informed decision, we at Tom Kadlec Kia in Rochester, Minnesota, have put together a list of models where this system is available and answered a few common questions about it.

What Is Kia Connect?

The Kia Connect telematics system is a result of the rebranding efforts of the automaker in recognition of the growing importance of connected car technologies. Before its introduction in 2021, it was known as the Kia UVO. While it retained many of the features of its predecessor, its capabilities have been expanded significantly, and it’s constantly undergoing improvements to enhance its performance.

What Vehicles Come With Kia Connect?

Kia Connect was first announced in the 2023 Kia Sportage. However, research using the Kia Connect availability tool shows that this feature was available in other models in earlier years, beginning in 2020. To avoid confusion, we may be able to attribute this to a simple case of the automaker renaming the UVO system in those vehicles to Kia Connect. Nonetheless, we have created a list of the vehicles and their respective trims that support Kia’s new telematics system, grouped according to their model year:
