Steve and Dawn, owners of Little Thistle Brewing Co., have a dog of their own, so they made sure that their restaurant’s outdoor seating area and beer garden are dog friendly. As long as your dog is sociable and well behaved, you’re welcome to bring it with you when you’re hanging out and enjoying some of the refreshing beers available. The taproom is situated on nearly two acres, so there’s plenty of room for your pup. A few of the tasty brew options you’ll want to try include the Identity Crisis, Peach Cobbler Kettle Sour, and the signature Thistle Whistle.

LTS Brewing Company

At LTS Brewing Company, they’re all about the beer. But they’re also about making their taproom a comfortable and welcoming environment for every customer. The team strives to provide friendly service and high-quality products to all. Every Wednesday, you can bring your dog with you while you relax, unwind, and sip on your favorite brew. Each week, the taproom welcomes different breeds, but I’m sure it won’t mind if you show up with your dog, regardless of breed. This gives dog owners a chance to socialize their pups with others of their kind.

Dogs and their owners can sit on the patio and enjoy yard games and plenty of space. It has lots of craft beers on tap, and for those who don’t drink or for the designated driver, there are craft sodas to try. If you get hungry, it also offers pizzas.

The Tap House

If you haven’t experienced The Tap House yet, then you — and your dog — must pay it a visit. With two locations, it’s bound to be convenient. It might just have the most craft beers on tap that you’ll find anywhere. You can choose from 50 different flavors at the third street location and 100 beers at the West End location, so you’re sure to find one you’ll love. The outdoor seating areas are cozy and welcoming to people and their dogs, no matter which location you visit.

There’s plenty of seating, so you can also invite your human friends and their dogs to join you. The Tap House often hosts events that are always fun to attend.

Workshop Food Hall & Bar

Workshop Food Hall & Bar is a unique place where you’ll find various food options, delicious drinks, and an outdoor patio that’s open to people and dogs alike. The Workshop Bar is a full-service bar offering palate-pleasing Midwest brews, seasonal cocktails, and domestic beers. One of its most popular drinks is the Geez Louise, with black cherry rum, basil, and strawberry. It also has wine and hard cider on the drinks list.

Grab a bite from Murdoch’s Place, Julio’s Tacos, Reid’s Pizza, or Birdie’s. You’ll find everything from hand-dipped corn dogs and burgers to Mexican cuisine and pizza on the menus at these restaurants. No matter what you’re in the mood for, you can find it when you stop in. You and your dog are sure to have a great time.

Five West Kitchen + Bar

Thanks to the spacious outdoor seating area complete with heat lamps, you and your dog can enjoy a relaxing time at Five West Kitchen + Bar. It’s conveniently located at 1991 Commerce Drive N.W. and is open seven days a week. Happy hour happens Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., and late-night happy hour takes place Monday through Thursday from 9 to 11 p.m. This means you can get a great deal on drinks during these hours. As for food, the many savory items on offer will tantalize your taste buds.

A few menu favorites include the maple bourbon burger, herb-roasted chicken nachos, and chicken and waffles. Vegans should try the pineapple rice. It also has a kid’s menu for families with young children. This is the perfect place to come with the whole family, including the dog.

Broadway Bar & Pizza

If you want a place with a friendly, relaxing atmosphere, then head to Broadway Bar & Pizza. Its patio welcomes dogs and their owners, plus you can get some of the best pizza and drinks in the city. This small Minnesota chain has grown over the years, but you can still count on it to provide great food and wonderful service, no matter which location you visit. The Rochester location has more than just pizza, with options for burgers, pasta, salads, hoagies, and more. Save room for dessert because the Zig Zag Donuts are amazing.

The Half Barrel

The Half Barrel has an upscale feel in a laid-back setting. Bring your dog and enjoy all the restaurant and full bar have to offer. You can come in just for drinks or order something off the menu if you’re feeling hungry. There are more than 300 whiskey options on the drinks menu, so sit back and order a flight to discover a new favorite. No matter whether you like rye whiskey, wheat whiskey, or bourbon, there’s something here for you. Take advantage of happy hour every weekday from 2 to 6 p.m. for great deals.

These are just a few of Rochester’s dog-friendly bars you can go to. Make sure you check with each location before you visit with your pooch, as rules and regulations do have a tendency to change. We hope you and your pup can visit the locations on this list and have a relaxing time while enjoying a drink and a meal. If you know of any other dog-friendly bars in the area, we’d love to hear about them, so please get in touch and let us know your favorite. Our pets are special, and we know yours are too.
