2022 Kia Stinger driver's view

If you are looking to buy or lease a car in North Rochester, Minnesota, the 2022 Kia Stinger model is a great buy that comes with several upgrades and safe driving features. The four-door sedan has a fully automatic transmission system powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering 300 horsepower and 11 pound-feet of torque. The manufacturers put more work on the interior to offer premium quality at a lower price than other competing brands in the category.

Our experts at Tom Kadlec Kia offer this review of the interior features of the 2022 Kia Stinger.

Premium Finish and More Interior Space

There was no detail too small to overlook in 2022 Kia Stinger’s products and telematics. The interior is attractive and well-designed with metallic accents and leather-trimmed seats. Even the standard trim level has premium materials.

The comfortable seats and ease in the adjustment of the steering wheel offer an excellent driving position. You can reach the main controls from different positions, hence giving the car a sporty feel.

Some of the interior options you can get as upgrades include:

  • Sport pedals.
  • Cargo mats and nets.
  • Electrochromatic (EC) mirrors with a compass.
  • Carpet floor mats.
  • Cargo tray.

The car has a cargo space of 23.3 cubic feet due to its long wheelbase and sleek hatchback opening. The maximum cargo capacity when you fold all seats is 40.9 cubic feet. There is also adequate space in the door pockets and center console to store cups, phones, or sunglasses.

Better Connectivity and Enhanced Infotainment

The car comes with an 8.0-inch or a 10.25-inch touch screen console that connects you to the road as you drive. It enables you to control most features, such as the use of real-time and historical traffic data to find the best route to your destination. The app also comes with last-mile navigation, giving you walking directions for up to a mile from your destination if there is no parking available or a path for your vehicle.

You can receive event updates on the console by syncing your iCloud or Google calendar through the Kia Access with UVO link app. The app connects to your Kia even when it is in the parking lot. It helps you locate your vehicle with a remote 360-degree view of activities around the car before you approach.

When taking your family for a pizza at the Five West Kitchen or a healthy snack at Saladworks, you can protect your privacy when leaving the car with a valet or another person by using the app to lock the touchscreen console. Keep the synced data and personal information, such as home address and call history, private.

The premium package allows you to upgrade the stereo system with 15 speakers and advanced tech through an in-dash navigation system and a wireless charging pad for your electronics.

7-Inch LCD and Head-Up Display (HUD)

The 2022 Kia Stinger has a 7-inch LCD HUD that projects essential driving information directly on the windshield within your line of sight, allowing you to keep your eyes on the road. The HUD reduces distractions often caused by sound systems and phones when driving.

The transparent digital display shows information like:

  • Current speed.
  • Turbocharger boost levels.
  • Blindspot detection.
  • Corner turn navigation.
  • Cruise control and audio settings.

Since the HUD is a premium feature, it is only available in the 2022 Kia Stinger G2 trim level.

Advanced Driver Assistance

Kia’s advanced driver assistance is one of the most efficient in the market today. The system combines various electronic technologies to help you when driving and parking.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning (FCA-JCT). The FCA system alerts you when rapidly approaching a vehicle that is slowing down or stationary. In certain conditions, FCA will apply emergency brakes if there is no feedback from the driver and the collision risk is increasing. The alert emits an audible warning sound and shows notifications on the instrument cluster.

Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) with available Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM). Using radar sensors located in the rear bumper of the Stinger, the BVW system alerts you about approaching traffic from your blind spot. The system automatically activates when the car goes above 20 mph, alerting you of any vehicles the radar detects. BVM displays the side and rear of the vehicle’s blind spot areas.

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA). As described in its name, LKA helps you maintain your lane using a front view camera attached to the Stinger’s windshield to detect lane markers on the road. If the system detects you are going out of your lane, you will hear an audible warning accompanied by a lane departure warning display on the instrument cluster.

Surround View Monitor (SVM). SVM uses four cameras to provide a 360-degree view of the 2022 Kia Stinger. The system is ideal for parking in tight spots and checking activities around you before you reach your car, especially if it was stolen or lost.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA). The system constantly checks collision risk levels while you are reversing. RCCA sends alerts through an audible warning sound and a visual warning display when collision risk is too high. In extreme conditions or if the driver is unresponsive, RCCA automatically applies brakes to avoid a collision.

Low Beam Assist-Dynamic (LBA-Dynamic). LBA-Dynamic is a visibility assist system that constantly tracks your steering angle and speed to enhance directional lighting. By providing accurate illumination of the road, the ride becomes much safer, especially during night-time or low visibility conditions.
