The Kia Seltos is a small SUV with more space in the cabin than most others in its class. It’s stylish inside and out and offers the tech features you want with the performance and practicality you need. The Seltos fits in the Kia lineup between the Sportage and the Soul, and it stands out in the crowded compact crossover market segment with its long list of standard and available interior features. Take a closer look at what you can get with the Seltos. Wanna test drive one? Call Tom Kadlec Kia at (507) 215-8923.

What Is the Kia Seltos?

The Seltos is a subcompact SUV with two rows of seats. Kia offers it in five different trim levels, starting with the LX. Next in the lineup are the S, the EX, Nightfall Edition, and the SX Turbo. The standard engine for the Seltos is a four-cylinder with 146 horsepower, but the Nightfall Edition and the SX Turbo each get a turbo four-cylinder that puts out 175 horsepower.

While some subcompact cars have low-end cabins in the entry-level models, the Kia Seltos stands out with its more upscale features and equipment. Even the base trim has a cabin filled with high-quality materials, which makes riding in this small SUV an enjoyable experience and one that makes you feel like you got more than your money’s worth.

The Seltos Has Impressive Space

The Kia Seltos might fit into the subcompact crossover SUV market, but it has an impressive amount of space in the cabin. Kia designed it with a boxier frame than others in its class, and passengers in the front and back benefit from the raised roof line. It can seat up to five people in its two rows, and there is plenty of space in both rows for adults to sit comfortably.

Rear seat passengers will enjoy the reclining second-row seats, especially when on long rides, and they can even recline when the cargo area is fully loaded with gear. Front seat passengers in the Seltos will appreciate the ergonomically designed seats that offer extra comfort.

In the back, behind both rows of seats, you’ll find 26.6 cubic feet of cargo space. If you fold down the rear seats, it opens up the cargo area to an impressive 62.8 cubic feet. The Seltos also comes equipped with a 60/40 split rear seat, so you can adjust the amount of seating and cargo space to fit your needs and change it when you need to. In addition to the versatile seating, the dual-level cargo floor makes it easy to expand the area when you need additional storage space.

The Seltos Is Child Seat Friendly

There are two sets of LATCH connectors in the back of the Seltos. The lower and upper anchors are easy to use, and there is plenty of room for two car seats, whether you have infant, rear-facing, or forward-facing convertible seats. The lower anchors sit about a half-inch into the bottom of the seat where the back and rear cushions meet, making them easy to grab, and three tether anchors sit near the top of the seat backs.

Technology for Everyone

The 2022 Seltos is equipped with tech features, even at the base level. The entry-level LX has an 8-inch touch screen, a USB port, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a six-speaker stereo system. Just a step up to the S trim gets you a 10.25-inch touch screen, integrated navigation, a power outlet, a USB port for the rear seat passengers, and satellite radio.

The EX adds to this with a wireless phone charging system and Siri Eyes Free, and if you move up to the higher-end SX, it comes equipped with a premium Bose stereo system and a digital instrument panel in front of the driver.

Other available interior tech features for the Seltos include:

  • Push-button start.
  • 7-inch digital gauge cluster.
  • An additional USB port.
  • Steering wheel-mounted controls for the audio system.

The UVO Infotainment System

All of the Seltos models come with Kia’s UVO infotainment system. It uses both physical controls and the touch screen to control its features. The UVO system allows Kia drivers to make phone calls, play music, and navigate through voice commands to keep their hands firmly on the steering wheel. The Kia UVO system can also provide various other convenience services such as remotely starting and stopping your Seltos, locking and unlocking the doors, and providing you with maintenance information.
