Newest Updates for 2020
Updates to the 2020 Kia Forte include mostly trim and engine updates, and this compact sedan keeps its sleek look from its last redesign from 2019. The new addition of Kia's turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine comes in the new Forte GT trim. This gives Kia's 2020 Forte lineup a boost from four trim levels to six, respectively, including the all-new GT and GT-Line.
The newest trim changes for the EX Special Edition include a two-toned interior design, updates to the Harman Kardon standard sound system, voice command for navigation, wireless charging capabilities, and a power sunroof.
The GT-Line and the turbocharged GT make up the newest Kia sport additions for 2020. The GT-Line differs from the GT and comes equipped with the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine capable of generating 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. With updated interior and exterior trim features like 17-inch alloy wheels and glossy black accents, the all-new 2020 Forte GT-Line packs the sleekness of a luxury compact sedan at an affordable price.

Engine and Performance
The 2020 Forte comes with only two engine configurations: the standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder 147 horsepower engine, or for the GT and GT-Line, the turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder. The 2.0-liter packs 132 lb-ft of torque, and the turbocharged 1.6-liter is capable of 201 horsepower and generating 195 lb-ft of torque.
The turbocharged 1.6-liter comes standard with a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission that gives drivers shifting ability from the steering-mounted paddle shifters. The six-speed manual transmission is also available as an added option for the GT and GT-Line, and for the turbocharged 1.6-liter, Kia added the high-flow custom-tuned active exhaust for added performance and fuel efficiency.
Kia's six-speed manual gives the GT and FE a fuel efficiency rating of 27 miles per gallon on city roads and up to 37 miles per gallon on the highway for a combined 31 miles per gallon. Kia's trims with the Variable Transmission (IVT) have an added boost in fuel efficiency for a combined 35 miles per gallon and 41 miles per gallon on the highway. The 2020 Forte makes it even easier to save on fuel costs.
Interior Features and Tech to Get Excited About
All the 2020 Forte trims come with innovative tech, with the main feature an eight-inch display with touchscreen giving drivers complete control over all the tech features. The infotainment system comes standard with an AM/FM stereo, USB, MP3, and auxiliary inputs, and Bluetooth streaming capabilities. Kia held onto its compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring drivers are able to connect wirelessly and hands-free.
