In recent years, the Kia Sportage has been one of the leaders in the highly competitive compact-SUV segment because of its well-rounded excellence. For the 2023 model year, Kia seeks to make its hugely popular crossover more appealing to fuel-conscious car buyers with the addition of a hybrid version.

The all-new Kia Sportage Hybrid offers most of the features that make its gas-powered sibling a great success, from engaging driving dynamics to a comfortable and well-appointed interior. Additionally, it comes in an array of trim levels and colors to cater to the specific needs and preferences of different drivers. Check out this detailed guide to the trim and color options of the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid to make the right buying decision.

2023 Kia Sportage Trim Levels

The 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid comes in three trim levels: The base LX, EX, and the top-of-the-line SX-Prestige. Although official pricing hasn’t been announced, experts expect this Kia model to start at around $30,000 because many of its rivals kick off in the same ballpark. Let’s find out how the three trims of the Kia Sportage Hybrid differ in the following departments:

Regardless of which trim you choose, the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid gets its power from a 1.6-liter turbo-four engine that combines with an electric motor to generate 226 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain comes with a 10-year or 100,000-mile warranty, which is the best in the industry.

The LX is equipped with front-wheel drive, but it offers all-wheel drive as an option. The top two trims, on the other hand, come standard with all-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive setup is an intelligent system that can monitor the traction and grip of different wheels and distribute power between the front and rear axles to achieve optimal handling.

On the outside, the new Kia Sportage Hybrid is decidedly more modern and upscale than its predecessor. It uses styling cues from the Kia EV6 and K5 to create a dynamic and futuristic design language that’s uniquely its own.

The crossover has a downward-sloping hood and wide grille that make it look sleek and handsome from the front. It’s also easily recognizable, thanks to its distinctive alien-styled headlamps and boomerang-like daytime-running lights. Pronounced fenders and deeply sculpted doors contribute to a muscular side profile, while a prominent roof spoiler, a raked rear windshield, and full-width taillights add a sporty touch.

Even if you opt for the base LX, you can expect to turn heads everywhere you go. However, you can make an even more striking impression by getting the EX or SX-Prestige. These two trims look more intense and aggressive with a gloss-black grille and 18-inch alloy wheels. They also have side mirrors with integrated LED turn signals, a panoramic sunroof, and a roof rack.

The interior of the Kia Sportage Hybrid features a modern and chic design, impressive fit and finish, and generous use of quality materials. Stylish touches can be seen throughout the cabin, including a two-tone color scheme, distinctive air vents, and a center console with push-button start, a rotary-shift knob, and other controls that blend into a piano-black bezel.

Similar to the 2022 model, the new Sportage Hybrid offers plenty of legroom in both rows of seats, enough for even tall occupants to feel comfortable and relaxed. The LX and EX provide 41.3 inches of legroom in the back row, which is among the best in the class. Choosing the SX-Prestige reduces rear legroom to 39.5 inches.

As for cargo capacity, you won’t be disappointed either. If you leave the 60/40 split-folding rear seats upright, you’ll have 39.5 cubic feet of storage space at your disposal. Folding those seats down expands the cargo space to about 74 cubic feet.

2023 Kia Sportage Features

Few compact SUVs offer a longer list of standard features than the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid. If you decide to buy the base LX, you’ll get 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, LED daytime-running lights, walk-away auto lock, cloth upholstery, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
